The white-wine version of Liano retains that name because of the similarity of the two wines in style and character. The blend is an homage to local winegrowing traditions, since the hills of Imola and Castel San Pietro were, as early as the 1800s, when these two grapes were introduced, highly-respected Emilia-Romagna wine production areas.

Color - Relatively subtle straw yellow.

Nose - Generous fragrances of apricot and peach, concluding with floral notes of jasmine, rose petals, and pennyroyal.

Taste - Simply majestic: intense, enfolding, and elegant, with a near-endless finish.

Wine Making

This blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc is grown in vineyards averaging 12-15 years of age and yielding 80 quintals per hectare, planted in clay soils over a pebble substratum. The clusters are gently pressed, and the must fermented in temperature-controlled Allier oak tonneaux. The wine the matures for 3 months in Allier medium-toast 5.5hl tonneaux, with regular bâtonnage, then a further 3 months in the bottle.
