A natural theatre, protected to the east by the Metalliferous Hills which slope down towards the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The conformation of this area leads to a special microclimate characterised by hot summers always cooled by the continuous winds coming from the sea and channelled by the Tuscan archipelago. Approaching the coast, the soils vary from being clay loam to loose. These particular conditions not only give structure but also infuse the wines of Bolgheri with a unique elegance and freshness, a testament to the terroir's distinctiveness.

Bolgheri is a territory characterised by international grapes. The pedo-climatic features have conditioned the viticulture of this part of Tuscany, identifying Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot as the right grape varieties for this area, reminiscent of Bordeaux. The wines made from these grapes, whether used as a blend or in purity, are known for their power, elegance, finesse, and a great inclination to ageing. Bolgheri's wines' power and ageing potential are a testament to the quality and craftsmanship of the region's winemakers. The cultivation of international grapes is accompanied by that of Vermentino, which in Bolgheri has found a unique interpretation of the Tuscan coast.
