Wine Profile

92 Robert Parker Wine Advocate+
Aroma Notes-

Deep purple-black pronounced cassis, macerated blackberry and black plum notes over lavender, damp earth, black olives, sage and black pepper nuances. Medium-bodied, it is nicely poised in the mouth around a core of complex, earthy fruit flavours that are offset by medium levels of finely grained tannins.

Hewitson Barossa Valley

Hewitson Barossa Valley. Established in 1998, Hewitson winery is situated in the heart of the Barossa Valley on the historic Seppeltsfield Road and boasts some of the oldest vines in the world. Our fruit is sourced from these dry-grown, pre-Phylloxera vineyards of the Barossa Valley and also single site vineyards in Eden Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. We believe great wines are the expression of the soils they are grown in and in the seasons they grow. Through knowledge and experience we strive for balance, structure, concentration, power and breeding.

The Region

South Australia, Barossa Valley

South Australia, Barossa Valley. The Barossa Valley is a renowned wine-producing region northeast of Adelaide, in South Australia. The area encompasses towns such as Tanunda, Angaston and Nuriootpa, and an array of high-profile wineries offering tours and cellar-door tastings. Shiraz grapes are the local speciality. The stone cottages and Lutheran churches throughout the region are testament to a 19th-century wave of German settlers
