Aroma Notes-

Yemula is an homage to the city of Imola. The name is freely inspired by the Latin name of the city, “gémùla”, later evolving into “jémula”.

Sangiovese and Merlot mature in Allier oak tonneaux and marry to produce an elegant symphony of fruit and blossoms of superb richness and suppleness

Appearance: Full-volume, deep red with purplish highlights.
Bouquet: Richly fragrant with delicate notes of wild blackberry, dried plum, and raspberry.
Palate: Silk-smooth and well-balanced, thanks to a combination of the fruit classic to Sangiovese and the fresh notes of Merlot. Supple tannins mark the progression to a lengthy, spice-infused finish.

Wine Making

This blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, grown in medium-textured soils, in vineyards averaging 15 years old and yielding 75 quintals per hectare. The must ferments for 15-20 days in vertical, temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, then the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in large oak ovals, followed by 18 months maturation in new 5.5 hl oak tonneaux.

Umberto Cesari

Umberto Cesari Winery, founded in 1964, lies in the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme, in western Romagna. Our winemaking has always focused on our local native grapes, but over time we have added international varieties as well. Day by day, we have watched our vineyards grow, as has our awareness that our local growing area is our most important natural resource. That is the reason that we follow a philosophy that respects the earth but at the same time welcomes new challenges represented by sustainability and innovation. Because we know that the grape of tomorrow must be even better than that of today.
