Prepare for a sensory adventure with troublemaker Blend 16. Its opaque purple colour sets the stage for a nose that bursts with jammy boysenberry and blackberry, accompanied by a fresh hint of raspberry. These fruit aromas continue on the palate, where they are accentuated by underlying tones of peppercorns, dried tobacco, and roasted coffee. The velvety tannins and balancing acidity bring out the vibrant fruit character of this complex blend, offering a truly engaging experience.

About this WINE
Zinfandel
Red berries, blackberry, anise and pepperThe common belief has always been that Zinfandel, identical to Primitivo, is a Californian varietal, but recent DNA testing has tracked its roots back to vineyards in Croatia. This fickle grape is one of the most widely planted in the US just short of Cabernet Sauvignon. The style of Zinfandel red wines varies quite significantly from fresh and fruit-forward to highly concentrated fruit with firm tannins.Zinfandels are typically light to full-bodied with berry-like and spice flavors. The grape is also widely used in the popular off-dry blush wine known a
Grenache
Tannic, spicy, herbal and a ripe sweetnessGrenache Noir or Garnacha, as it is called in Spain, is one of the most widely planted grapes, especially around the Mediterranean. Believed to originate from Spain, this theory has recently been challenged by researches claiming its home to be the island of Sardegna, Italy. In the Southern Rhône Valley in France, Grenache Noir is often blended with Mourvèdre and Syrah, but it is probably best known as one of the principal grapes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, comprising 70 percent of the blend. But this vigorous variety is also an important component in Gigon
Mourvedre
Red fruits, flowers, herbs and gameThis late-ripening and sun-loving grape is often considered a bit of diva, because it requires a lot of patience and attention. Mourvèdre is grown widely, but is most popular in France and Spain. It is believed to originate from Spain, where it is known as Monastrell or Mataró.Mourvèdre is one of Rhône’s major grapes and one of the regular supporting grapes in the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. To experience a wine where Mourvèdre is the dominant grape, look to the region of Bandol. Here it’s required that 50- 95 percent is Mourvèdre and it’s also where yo
Syrah
Syrah Syrah, also known as Shiraz, is a dark-skinned grape variety grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce red wine. In 1999, Syrah was found to be the offspring of two obscure grapes from southeastern France, Dureza and Mondeuse Blanche

Little did they know that the rolling, oak-studded terrain of Paso Robles would one day become a viticultural terroir of significance and one of the top winegrowing regions for quality red wine within the Central Coast.Gone are the apple orchards. Today, the Hopes cultivate mature vineyards of the varieties best suited to their area including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Mourvedre and Grenache. Vine density has increased and each vine is asked to produce very little fruit. The terroir of this domain expresses itself in its unique regional character. Regardless of the varieties planted, the expression of Paso Robles is displayed in the glass with spice, licorice and berry in the nose, soft textures and silky tannins on the palate.Hope Family Wines consists of five individual brands: Liberty School, Treana, Quest, Austin Hope, Troublemaker.

As California’s fastest-growing wine region and largest geographic appellation, the territory encompasses more than 40,000 vineyard acres and more than 200 wineries. With a greater day-to-night temperature swing than any other appellation in California, distinct meso-climates, diverse soils and a long growing season, Paso Robles is a unique wine region blessed with optimal growing conditions for producing premium and ultra-premium wines. More than 60 wine grape varieties are grown in Paso Robles, ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to Syrah, Viognier and Roussanne to Zinfandel, the area’s heritage wine varietal.Established in 1983, and expanded in 1997 then again in 2009, the Paso Robles American Viticultural Area (AVA) is a large, diverse appellation located within northern San Luis Obispo County, comprised of a number of distinctive grape growing regions generally characterized by rolling hills east of the Salinas River and steeper hillsides, cut by small canyons, west of the Salinas River. The Paso Robles AVA’s western boundary is just six miles from the Pacific Ocean. The appellation lies on the inland side of the Santa Lucia coastal mountains in San Luis Obispo County, and roughly forms a rectangle 35 miles from east to west, and 25 miles from north to south. It extends from the Monterey County border to the north, to the Cuesta Grade below Santa Margarita to the south, and from the Santa Lucia Mountains to the west, to the Cholame Hills to the east. The appellation comprises 612,000 acres of which more than 40,000 acres are in wine grape vines. It is the fastest growing and largest by far of three AVAs in San Luis Obispo County, and the main reason that the county ranks behind only Napa, Sonoma, and Monterey counties in planted acreage among the state’s coastal growing areas.
